If you have a porthole machine, the operating mode will be different. You will first have to choose the hottest wash cycle and add the ingredients one after the other, after having started it.
But since each machine is different, and it can be tedious, you can opt for plan B and soak your pillow overnight with the ingredients in a basin, or in your bathtub. The next day, all you have to do is put your pillow in the machine, using your usual program and your detergent: you will be surprised to see the yellow stains disappear quickly!
Also, if you have this option on your machine, test the rinse (+) option. This will help whiten your pillow further by boosting cleaning efficiency.
To successfully clean your cushions, and thus spend clean nights, it is essential not to place more than two pillows at the same time in the washing machine.
